June
Heimsoth was born in Colorado Springs and raised on a dairy farm
east of Falcon, Colorado. Her art career began when she won a "Big
John and Sparkey" dog drawing contest at age five. June began
painting in earnest in 1998 and has produced over 200 paintings
since. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Colorado State Fair,
Pikes Peak Center, Colorado Springs Airport, U.S. Olympic Center's
Hall of Fame, and the Parade of Homes. Her paintings are in private
collections across the United States.
She
is past President of the Colorado Springs Art Guild and winner of
several awards in juried art exhibits, including ribbons for First
Place and a Peoples' Choice ribbon. She also earned Grand Champion
and Reserve Champion awards at the El Paso County Fair.
June enjoys Colorado's beautiful outdoors, which is reflected in
her paintings of animals, wildlife, and landscapes. In addition
she paints portraits of adults and of children and pets.
June
is always striving for growth as an artist. She studied with George
Molstad for years, has taken workshops from Olvenas Berberian and
from Michael Untiedt, and is currently mentored by Martha Mans. |
