Meet the Artist

June Heimsoth

June Heimsoth was born in Colorado Springs and raised on a dairy farm east of Falcon, Colorado. Her art career began when she won a "Big John and Sparkey" dog drawing contest at age five. June began painting in earnest in 1998 and has produced over 200 paintings since. Her paintings have been exhibited at the Colorado State Fair, Pikes Peak Center, Colorado Springs Airport, U.S. Olympic Center's Hall of Fame, and the Parade of Homes. Her paintings are in private collections across the United States.

She is past President of the Colorado Springs Art Guild and winner of several awards in juried art exhibits, including ribbons for First Place and a Peoples' Choice ribbon. She also earned Grand Champion and Reserve Champion awards at the El Paso County Fair.

June enjoys Colorado's beautiful outdoors, which is reflected in her paintings of animals, wildlife, and landscapes. In addition she paints portraits of adults and of children and pets.

June is always striving for growth as an artist. She studied with George Molstad for years, has taken workshops from Olvenas Berberian and from Michael Untiedt, and is currently mentored by Martha Mans.
